SCARCE DATE IN CAMEO! Few cameo nickels were struck in 1952 and of those that were minted, many have been ruined because of improper storage. Hairlines pose a minor problem, as does hazy smoky toning. This is a knockout example for the date and grade. Moderate frosted cameo devices on both obverse and reverse are beautifully contrasted by spot-free, haze-free jet-black mirrored fields. Considering the total mintage was just more than 81,000, these coins have to be considered a very safe, if not spectacular investment.
